This is the most important document you will ever write about yourself. Take some time and trouble over it.
- It must be concise, factual, clearly laid out and easy to read.
- It should contain your higher education and degree detail (including degree result and from which university)
- You should describe your career in reverse order (most recent company first)
- Add a section about your interests, hobbies and passions outside of work.
- Always add proficiency in foreign languages if you have them.
- For Technologists it helps to add a table with your relevant technical skills and your proficiency levels.
- For Commercial posts, you should add your contribution towards your employers’ targets and your key achievements
- Do not exaggerate on your resume! It’s a small industry!
- Always add references, as your peers provide a valuable reflection on your ability.
- Do not doctor your resume for specific vacancies.
- Remember honesty is always the best policy!
